David LaChapelle

David LaChapelle is an oil painter and professional photographer. In this exhibition he focuses on oil paintings of marine and other natural subjects. His expressive brushwork and colorful palette create evocative natural scenes and have won awards. David frequently works in plein air drawing inspiration directly from the landscape in front of him. As a native of Boston’s North Shore David is familiar with the New England landscape but his travels have also inspired tropical beach scenes and paintings of other exotic subjects.

Michael "Grimdrops" Grimaldi

Times are chaotic - so sit back, relax and and enjoy some puns. From classic dad jokes to pop culture themed puns - goofy double entendres have been a recurring theme in Grimdrops' work. He welcomes eye rolls, smirks, and the occasional snicker. The goal with this show is to put a rubber band around people's heads and get them to snap out of reality for a few minutes - better yet, leave people with a few new dad jokes that they can annoy their friends with.

Artist Statement

Grimdrops works in a variety of mediums on a wide range of projects from icon design to large scale murals. Visual problem solving is the goal when working with clients but his personal work is more focused on bringing a smile to people's faces and/or getting a laugh out of them. Lately, murals and live art have been at the forefront of Grimdrops' career. Whether working digitally or traditionally - the work is clean and bold and his most recent work often has an added scratched and distressed texture giving a new piece a weathered look. There's no deep meaning behind this decision - it just makes the piece more visually interesting in certain cases.
